After completing school she completed her hairdressing apprenticeship at the local salon, which she works at now. Laura loves working in the hair and beauty industry, as it enables her to show her true creativity and lets her have a personal relationship with members of the local community.

Meg Grogran

OUR CAPELLA 2021 SHOW GIRL

Meg Grogran

2021 Show Girl

Meg is a passionate, local resident who grew up in Capella where her parents have 2 cattle properties with approximately 2500 acres. While currently working as a Health, Safety & Environment Officer at a local mine Meg’s passion remains firmly within the agricultural industry.

Meg completed all her schooling in Capella where she participated in programs such as cattle club. Meg firmly believes that her participation in the school’s cattle program led her to gaining valuable skills in public speaking and preparing cattle for show while also gaining experience in the areas of junior judging and parading.

Participation in work experience at Clermont Veterinary Surgery during school led to Meg gaining employment with the Surgery where she first worked as a Junior Vet Nurse. After completing a gap year with the surgery Meg stayed on at the surgery where she completed her Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing. Meg credits her 7 years with the surgery for many of her current skills as well as many life lessons learnt along the way.

After being crowned Capella’s 2021 Miss Showgirl Meg was awarded the title of CHASS 2021 Miss Showgirl Representative. This title saw Meg compete at the 2021 Miss Showgirl State Finals in Brisbane. When asked about her state finals experience Meg says, “It was a wonderful experience that I will never forget and I have learnt some valuable lessons from there”.

As a passionate supporter of the agricultural industry and local show movement Meg continues to involve herself in the promotion of and organisation of the Capella Show.
